A Very British Love Story

Designing the Legacy of Charles Duncan Champagne

The Project
Design-Fuel was proud to craft the visual identity and digital presence for Charles Duncan Champagne — the first French champagne house founded by a proud British Black entrepreneur.
Rooted in family heritage and symbolised by the enduring strength of the buffalo, this brand redefines modern luxury with a soulful nod to tradition. Our mission was to translate this powerful narrative into a brand experience that feels both timeless and contemporary.
From the outset, our approach was to create a brand that feels as rich and layered as the champagne itself. The visual identity draws inspiration from the buffalo — a symbol of resilience and unity — which we integrated into a refined logo that balances strength with elegance. The colour palette and typography were carefully selected to evoke sophistication while remaining approachable and modern.
We designed the champagne labels to reflect craftsmanship and prestige, using premium finishes and subtle textures that elevate the tactile experience. Each label tells a story — not just of the wine, but of the legacy behind it.
The website UX/UI was built to mirror the brand’s ethos: clean, elegant, and emotionally resonant. We focused on storytelling through design, guiding users through the manifesto, tasting notes, and the founder’s journey with seamless navigation and immersive visuals. The result is a digital experience that invites visitors to not just buy champagne, but to become part of a new tradition.
Our team delivered high-fidelity prototypes and a complete digital toolkit, enabling the client to move confidently into production and marketing. This project showcases our ability to translate complex ideas into elegant, effective design – bridging science and storytelling to support meaningful innovation
