Labels & Labeling

A trade magazine less ordinary

The project
Transform the Labels & Labeling brand and align with a new packaging focused commercial strategy.
Redesign resulted in year on year growth and publishing revenues exceeding £2.5 million in 2016.
The front and inside cover of L&L issue 4 was a 1920's speakeasy theme with resplendent foil and embossing effects. Crucial to making this work was a design that would allow hot stamping on both sides of the same page. The idea was to create a foiled and embossed outdoor illustration on the front cover which could be turned over to the inside front cover page revealing a party illustration involving the same characters reflected.
The below Diet Coke designs were part of 16,000 unique front covers digitally printed. These covers feature one-of-a-kind bottle designs produced with the same technology used for the Diet Coke Extraordinary Collection campaign.
L&L’s online identity aims to bridge the gap between quick hits and in-depth reads. The rebranded website harnesses the lessons learned from social media, providing quick read  – while also providing real journalism that takes a deep-dive on many industry issues.
